Copper cuff and twisted silver wire bangle workshop

9 June  9.30 AM TIL 4.30

Learn to transform copper sheet into a fabulous curved cuff bangle using anticlastic techniques taught to you on the day. You'll also make a lovely sterling silver twisted wire bangle using simple methods. You'll learn to:

  • anneal and shape metal using sinusoidal stakes
  • simple soldering techniques 
  • forming bangles from heavy gauge wire using twisting and shaping techniques
  • filing and polishing

Cost is $185 which includes copper sheet, sterling silver wire and consumables. You will make 2 bangles on this day, some lovely additions to your collection and take away some new skills

INTRODUCTION TO jewellery making (beginners' class)


This beginners' class will suit anyone who would like to work with metal.  In this one day class you will learn :

  • annealing and simple soldering 
  • make basic findings
  • texturing metal using hammers, stamps and rolling mill
  • simple fold forming technique
  • cutting using snips, guillotine and jeweller's saw
  • drilling, filing and polishing

You will finish a lovely pair of earrings and/or a small pendant in the day

Silver bracelet workshop (2 Saturdays - 10 hrs approx)


In this workshop you will learn to make large jumprings and manipulate finished pieces using hammers and anvil 

You will learn to transform 1.5 and 2 ml wire into a lovely bracelet using newly learnt skills including:

  • shaping and making jump rings
  • squaring up and soldering wire joins
  • interconnecting rings with soldering
  • texturing pieces using hammer technique
  • making simple bail for findings
  • filing and polishing - ready to wear

BANGLE workshop - date tba

beginners welcome. 9.30 til 4.00 Saturday   $180

This is always a popular workshop, loads of fun. Learn to make 2 lovely bangles in one day. Using thick copper sheet and lovely silver rectangular wire - you'll create your "one-off" pieces, soldered and made to fit you.

Learn to:

  • size your metal for correct fit
  • prepare for good solder join
  • anneal, stamp and shape your bangles
  • solder ends to form finished bangle
  • filing, sanding and polishing

Accommodation available

If you wish to attend a workshop at my studios, I also provide accommodation in a lovely setting for your convenience. Downstairs room with own bathroom and snack making facilities $70 pr night (queen bed) includes breakfast. Should you wish to share the downstairs space we have blow up beds and mattresses available. (second person downstairs separate room ($30 pr night).  You will need to be prepared to share your bathroom and fridge with workshop attendees during the day. More info at 

upcycling for jewellery using everyday items - TBA 

9 am til 5 pm.  BYO lunch. Refreshments available and a glass of wine at the end!

A fun and relaxed day using everyday items such as saucepan lids, old tins,  cards, fabric and small computer components etc - upcycling items into funky wearable art. Sterling silver sheet and brass available to purchase. Silver wire and copper sheet included in price. Some silversmithing techniques including soldering will be included. You will learn to: 

  • flatten materials in hydraulic press
  • use jeweller's saw and drill press
  • cut materials using disc cutters and press 
  • file, sand and polish finished items
  • make simple sterling silver findings 
  • create soft and hard joining methods with rivets and cotton

HENS' PARTIES - pottery 

Fantastic fun for an afternoon OR morning of laughter and creativity - a truly memorable way to enjoy your Hen's day!

You can choose to get messy with some clay, create a lovely hand built or wheel thrown pot, and have some laughs!  

 Cost:  $80 per person and includes your materials, firing and morning or afternoon tea.
